"Remember, Anna," I said, "any time you want your head back, you just have to say."

Anna didn't reply.

"Just give me the word," I continued, "and we'll pop your head back into existence like it was never vanished."

There was no answer.

"Now, we're just going to make your arms vanish, maybe three or four inches down from your shoulders, unless you've got any objections?"

Still not a murmur from Anna.

"And then, after that, we'll take your legs off, right at the tops of your thighs where they meet your body.  Obviously, if you don't want us to do that, tell us."

Anna remained wordless, just as before.

"Just be sure to let us know," I went on, "if you want us to stop, if you want your arms or legs or head to reappear, if you're at all uncomfortable with what we're doing today."

Anna shifted her weight slightly on the chair and relaxed her shoulders a little.  She still didn't say anything.  It was time to continue with her reduction.
